The Korean Festival takes over Seoul International Park this October
Four days, four blocks off the crawl route, and nobody is charging you to walk in. The Los Angeles Korean Festival runs Thursday 1 October to Sunday 4 October at Seoul International Park, on Olympic at Normandie, from 10am to 10pm each day.
It bills itself as the largest Korean cultural festival in the country, and the crowd backs that up. Hundreds of thousands of people come over the four days. What that means in practice is food booths, Korean goods, artisan stalls, cultural exhibitions and performances, packed into a park that most of the year is a couple of soccer fields and a walking path.
Where it actually is
Seoul International Park sits at the corner of Olympic and Normandie. If you have been on one of our crawls you have walked past the end of it. It is a short walk from the Bounty and closer still to anything on Olympic, which is the useful part: you do not need to move the car, and you do not need to plan the day around getting there.
How we would do it
Go in the afternoon while it is still light and the food lines are shorter, eat standing up, and let the evening find you afterwards. Everything on our list is within walking distance of the park gates, so the festival becomes the first stop of a night rather than the whole of one. That is more or less the argument this entire site makes.
A word on the practical side: it is free, it is outdoors, and it is busy. Wear something you can stand around in for a few hours. Bring cash as well as a card, because some booths are quicker that way. And if you are driving, park once, in a garage, and walk. Ktown parking during a festival weekend is a different sport.

Dates, hours and the program come from the festival’s own site, and a four-day event with a lineup can move. Check theirs before you set out, and we would rather send you to the organizers than have you take our word for a schedule we do not run.
